Medium: cold wax & oil paint

Deb Carr is a multidisciplinary artist who has been drawing and painting for over fifty years. Working primarily with cold wax, oil paints, acrylics, watercolours, acrylic inks, and India ink, she also explores printmaking to expand her creative expression.

Her work moves between modern folk art, contemporary abstract-expressionism, and contemporary impressionism, blending intuition with observation. Deb’s creative focus is guided by emotion, colour, and the quiet poetry found in nature and everyday objects. She often paints from memory, allowing each piece to evolve organically as she responds to texture and light.

Her landscapes and still-life paintings are recognized for their rich, saturated colours and expressive energy. Through her art, Deb seeks to capture stillness within motion, the meditative balance between chaos and calm, and to share the sense of connection she feels to the natural world.
