Medium: Oil Painting

Tracy Quinsey is best known for her eccentric figurative paintings, contemporary Canadian wildlife portraits, and whimsical animal sculptures. As a representational oil painter, Tracy’s enigmatic animals and figures shift between whimsy and reality. She suggests form and structure in her subjects through expressive brushstrokes and avoids the over rendering of details. Minimalist backgrounds, thin layers of paint, residual drawing lines and soft edges are all hallmarks of her style. Her animal sculptures, most notably hares and sheep, captivate with humour and quirky expressive poses.

Tracy is an active member of both the Canadian Federation of Artists and the Garibaldi Art Club.
