In an effort to embrace the enthusiasm and encouragement of her childhood to express herself creatively, Tara endeavours to produce pieces which evoke joy, nostalgia and humour. This multi-media artist is always on the lookout for pieces she can put her artistic touches on, with an aim to preserve functionality as well as be enjoyable to look at. She is frequently drawn to wood pieces to re-imagine, design, prepare and paint using semi-gloss paint. Vintage wood furniture, trays, boxes and ironing boards are commonly used, though her interest in using a variety of materials makes other inspired works possible. For example, vintage decorations and ornaments become unique, theme intended wreaths, and well worn vintage children's books are used to compose bunting. Tara hopes that when you experience her work, you too will be filled with whimsy and childlike wonder.
