Medium: Painting

Pitt Meadows resident Melody Fowler is an author and self-taught visual artist working in acrylic, oil, and watercolour. Her practice often explores the layering and mixing of mediums, using colour, texture, and emotion to create expressive works that examine the subtle interplay of light and shadow.

Her paintings have been exhibited in homes and businesses across Canada and the United States, with notable commissions for Dallas, Texas’ Inaugural Poet Laureate and the U.S. liaison for Bavaria.

Melody’s recent contribution to the exhibit, Our Image (Place Des Arts, Spring 2025), reflected on diversity and the depth of human experience, drawing inspiration from her upbringing in East Vancouver’s multicultural community. A distinctive element of her work is the integration of metallic acrylics, which introduce a luminous quality and imbue her pieces with a vivid, dynamic presence.
