Medium: Acrylic and Alcohol Inks

Diane continues to enjoy the unique challenge of painting with alcohol inks. She paints mostly by using a hair dryer to move the inks as she continually explores the interesting effects that can be achieved. Her alcohol inks are painted in an intuitive or abstract style. She also paints with acrylics, with the subject matters being whatever challenges or inspires her. Her landscapes are motivated by the beautiful BC landscape and especially by the scenery so close at hand in the communities of Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows. Diane also makes jewellery including pendants and bracelets, as well as creating various items such as cloth bags painted with alcohol inks.

Diane Speirs has been the President of the Garibaldi Arts Club since 2019 and is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Fraser Valley Chapter. She is a long time resident and volunteer in her community of Maple Ridge
