Medium: Acrylic-Mixed Media

Cindy Johnston is an acrylic/oil/mixed media painter from Maple Ridge BC. She is the current president of the Fraser Valley Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists from whom she has been awarded the national status of AFCA. Cindy has shown and sold work at numerous galleries from Granville Island in Vancouver, to Harrison Hot Springs and Chilliwack. Her work is filled with rich textures, bold colors and striking subjects ranging from crows to moody landscapes and abstract figures. Her focus is on interpreting emotions through those subject matters; some are dark and brooding while others are bright and often comical. "I want the viewer to be drawn to and touched by my work. It should evoke strong emotions, offer insights into my creative thought process, and leave the viewer thinking about the painting from then on. I want to create a lasting experience through my work."
