Why do I paint?

The inspiration to paint comes from the stimuli around us, whether it is during a walk on the dyke or at home, gardening, sitting at the pond or watching a sunset. The list goes on so there is never a shortage of ideas or inspiration.

I love to explore new approaches, but I use oils most of the time. Some days collage, watercolors, pen and ink or charcoal are the medium of choice to put an inspiration on paper or canvas. Other times I just pick up a brush and go for it. The end result can be most gratifying or disappointing.
