| Artist's Comments: | Robert Dale Sharp Born on Vancouver Island, Dale moved to Maple Ridge with his maternal grandparents in 1945. As a young man, a number of years were spent in a variety of non art-related jobs, then in 1971, he and his wife moved to Nelson, BC, where he attended the Kootenay School of Art. After graduation, several year of experience were gained in the commercial art field and its related trades, then the opportunity arose ro combine freelance commercial art with the compulsion to devote more time to fine art. During the early years, Dale worked primarily in pen & ink, learning the cross-hatch style of rendering shades and the various depths of shadows and tones. Dale has now added pen & ink and watercolour wash, and acrylic to his portfolio, and is at present enjoying the many challenges of working in clay.
